Himansh Kohli & Priya Banerjee On NEPOTISM: There is Work For Everybody In The Industry

Remember Himansh Kohli of Yaariyaan fame? Well, Himansh’s next film, Dil Jo Na Keh Saka has released today and we happened to meet the actor and his co-star Priya Banerjee ahead of the film’s release.

Since both Priya and Himansh hail from a non-filmy backgrounds, we asked them about the struggles they faced in the film industry. While most of the stars who are not backed by a godfather have confessed that it has been quite a tough journey so far, surviving in Bollywood on their own, Priya and Himansh have a different story to tell. In an exclusive interview with SpotboyE.com, talking about nepotism, Himansh said, “I started my journey with Yaariyaan and I am really thankful to T-Series because everybody knew me after my very first break. Kuch struggles zyada difficult nahi rahe of course, kaam ke upar dhyaan dena is a very important thing... To survive with the best of films and to entertain people. So far the industry has been very warm and kind. So from a non-filmy background, if you look at me, I don’t have anyone to back me up. I would rather say that these are my godfathers who believe me.”

Priya, too, had something similar to share. She said, “I am very new in the industry and in India, I have been here for four years now. So I have constantly been working and I have no time off. It has been a very warm welcome so far. I have never felt like an outsider. There are people who have said that the industry is very cruel but luckily it has been good to me and I hope it remains good.”

Along with Tumhari Sulu and Aksar 2, another film has released today, titled Dil Jo Na Keh Saka. The film has Himansh romancing Canadian actress Priya Banerjee. The story revolves around two childhood friends who go separate ways in pursuit of their respective dreams. When they return to their hometown and meet after a long separation, they understand that there is more to their relationship than just friendship.

The film has been directed by Naresh Lalwani.
